Juan Widmer

Born in November 1966 in Valencia, Juan Widmer grew up in Lucerne and Zurich. After interrupting his commercial training and holding various positions in the transport and media sectors, he co-founded the cooperative Zugvogel Reisen in 1994, where he acted as co-manager, driver and tour guide until the year 2000.
Juan Widmer then studied business economics at the Lucerne School of Business (HSW) and the University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich (HWZ). He graduated in 2005 as a qualified business economist, majoring in public & non-profit management. His study focused on subjects such as auditing, white-collar crime, e-business, mergers and restructuring, and his project work addressed public management and democracy in the Lucerne agglomeration. In his thesis, he analysed new prospects for the Lucerne night bus on behalf of Lucerne's transport services.
In 2007, he founded the one-man firm J. M. Widmer Business Management Consultancy. On the side, he has remained active in radio training and the evaluation of media companies to this day. In 2010, Juan Widmer completed continuing education and training to become a qualified ISAS auditor for the media industry. In 2015, he also obtained the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Community Communication at the School of Applied Linguistics (IAM) at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Winterthur.
